I want to take the opportunity to thank you for visiting our website. I am Alan Morrison and that pretty girl on my shoulder is my wife Amy. We are lifelong residents of the Mid-Ohio Valley, and enjoy bringing Tidbits® to people every week.

A little bit about Tidbits®. It is a national publication, (now international with publishers in Canada), with a team of writers that research a subject and write stories that are light and we feel very interesting. Rarely are they controversial or boring, ugly news! It is always intended to be FUN! The original Tidbits® was started in Helena Montana and then moved to their current location in Montgomery Alabama. I started the local version back in 2000 with the print paper as Tidbits® of Wood County; it has been an adventure to say the least. It is always fun to drop off the paper at one of our many distribution points and have people say “Hi” or even more rewarding when they say how much they love to read Tidbits! In 2006 I acquired the rights to Washington County Ohio and became Tidbits® of the Mid-Ohio Valley and most recently expanded into Pleasants and Jackson Counties in West Virginia.

One of the questions I am always asked is “How do you make a living with a FREE PAPER? The simple answer is by having great advertisers. That is why you will always see notes in the paper to support our advertisers. They are what keep the bills paid to print and distribute to all of the places we go. So please always thank the advertisers and support their business whenever possible, they are local working people just like you and me.

I have lived in this area all of my adult life and most of my child hood. We moved to Parkersburg in 1973 and I have lived in the area ever since. I Love this place. It has been the perfect place to raise my family (I have seven children all together) plus twelve, (and counting) grand children, additionally 4 great-grandchildren! If you have been a reader for a while you may remember the good looking woman is my wife Amy, three of the kids are hers, we were married in July 2009, and I hope she will keep hanging with me for a lifetime.

As for Tidbits, stick around I really hope you like what we are doing and what is to come. Let me know how to make it better.
